The Prayer and Mental Health Connection

Judy Burfict Season 2 Episode 62

The month of May marks the month that many come together in Prayer as we acknowledge the National Day of Prayer on the first Thursday of the month.  It also marks the month for awareness for Mental Health and is called Mental Health Month.

Many studies have been conducted to determine the power of prayer in dealing with mental and emotional health issues such as depression, anxiety, fear, hopelessness, anger and despair.  It has been noted and concluded in many of these studies that prayer has a positive effect on individuals suffering from some of these issues.  In fact, prayer has been having a positive effect on the issues faced by many individuals since the beginning of time.

Today's podcast seeks to point out the connection between Prayer and Mental Health as we explore how prayer can allow us to rest by "casting our cares upon the Lord, because He cares for us." I Peter 5:7.  Casting our cares and lightening our load, will give us the strength to Keep Going.
